Hi! I’m Hannah, a first-year EFDS student running for Economics Industry Officer.

Economics is one of the most powerful ways to understand the world - from financial markets to government policy - but it can sometimes feel disconnected from what careers in the field actually look like. I want to help bridge that gap.

My goal is to make EFDS Soc a place where students can explore careers, meet people in the field, and see how the theory we study applies in the real world.

If elected, I will:

• Bring in industry speakers - economists and professionals from consulting, finance, policy, and research to talk about their career paths and the work they actually do.

• Run practical career events - sessions on internships, spring weeks, and career paths in economics, including advice from students and alumni who have recently gone through the process.

• Create stronger links with industry - building partnerships with firms and organisations to open up networking opportunities and insights for EFDS Soc members.

• Make economics more engaging - events that connect what we learn in lectures to real-world economic issues, markets, and policy decisions.

Ultimately, I want the to help make EFDS Soc a launchpad for students interested in economics, whether that’s in finance, consulting, policy, research, or beyond.
