Starting university can be exciting, but also overwhelming, especially as an international student😵💫. I understand the uncertainty, peer pressure, and confusion about the future that many first years experience.
In my own first year, I activity networked with senior students, explored different future paths and developed various skills. I applied for Spring Weeks and secured an offer from PwC. Through this process, I realised that what first years often need most is clarity and practical guidance.
If elected, I will focus on creating accessible and supportive initiatives, including:
• Career pathway talks for Physics students🗂 – exploring opportunities in research, finance, consulting, technology and beyond.
• Improving the Physoc Family scheme –organising informal meet-ups and themed discussions so conversations happen naturally.(My Physoc family group chat is really quiet, no one actually talk.)
• Support spaces for international students🧸 – open conversations about adjustment, expectations, and future planning.
• Activities(game night🕹, film night🎥, dinner party🎉) to help first year students get familiar with each other.
My goal is simple: to replace uncertainty with direction. I hope all the new students can get used to the life here at Imperial!💗
