Cybersecurity: Publicity Officer

I’m running for Publicity Officer because I really care about how our Cyber Security Society comes across. We run genuinely great events, whether that’s CTFs, hands-on workshops, or guest speakers, and I don’t think they should feel like an afterthought when it comes to promotion. The effort that goes into organising them deserves publicity that actually does them justice!

This year, I’ve already been the one behind our Instagram posts. I’ve designed the graphics, written the captions, and tried to keep everything looking consistent and recognisable. I’ve really enjoyed it! I like figuring out how to make posts clearer, cleaner, and a bit more eye-catching each time. It’s been satisfying seeing the page start to feel more put-together and intentional.

If I’m elected, I want to keep building on that. I would focus on making our content professional but still approachable, so it reflects both the technical side of the society and the community behind it. I want members to feel proud when they see our posts, and I want new students to come across our page and immediately think: I want to be part of that!
