FemTech: Advisor

Hello everyone! I am Serra, a second-year Biological Sciences student, and I am excited to apply for the Advisor role in FemTech Society.

My interest in FemTech began through a hackathon project focused on menstrual health innovation and has continued through my academic exploration of biotechnology and translational medicine. These experiences strengthened my interest in how scientific advances can directly improve women’s health outcomes.

As an Advisor, I hope to contribute thoughtful ideas that support innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and industry engagement. I am particularly interested in encouraging discussions around emerging medical technologies reshaping women's health, whether through research, startups, or policy.

I would also love to help organise events that combine discussions of research articles with entrepreneurship-focused conversations, similar to a journal club format. Since many of the speakers invited to FemTech events already exemplify the connection between academic research and innovation, creating spaces where students can actively analyse and discuss these ideas would allow us to practise critical thinking while better understanding how scientific discoveries translate into real-world applications.

I would love to become part of the comitee by helping foster an environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and forward-thinking discussions.

Thank you!!! I hope to meet you all soon!
