Orthopaedics Society: Conference Lead

Hi, my name is Jeffrey, and I’m running for Conference Lead this year!

My very first placement was at Chelsea and Westminster, and that’s where I became really interested in orthopaedics. I remember standing in the theatre watching a hip replacement and realising how much precision, teamwork, and preparation go into something that can completely change a patient’s life. That experience stuck with me. It showed me what good leadership and organisation look like in practice — everyone knowing their role, communicating clearly, and working towards one shared goal.

I don’t just want to organise an event. I want to build something structured, ambitious, and genuinely inspiring. Whether that’s inviting speakers who give practical insight into specialties like orthopaedics, creating panels where people can ask honest questions about career paths, or making sure the day actually runs smoothly — I care about the details.

Medicine has already taught me how important preparation and teamwork are. On placement, if one person isn’t organised, it affects everyone. I’d bring that same accountability and calm approach to this role.

If you want someone who’s motivated, organised, and genuinely invested in making this meaningful, I’d really value your vote.
