Hani Patel
Hi everyone!
My name is Hani, I'm a third year medic and I'd love to be one of your conference chairs next year.
As the current Orthopaedics Society publicity officer, I was involved in designing the promotional posts for this year's conference, which had over 120 attendees. Being part of the organising committee has given me a strong insight into the organisation and timeline needed to plan a high-quality conference. It has also helped me build connections with professionals within Orthopaedics which will prove invaluable for the future conference.
Through my roles as SORA secretary and Cardiovascular Society head of media, I've assisted with a total of 3 conferences this year, which has improved my planning and problem-solving ability. I have seen what delegates really value from a conference and I will incorporate these for next year.
What I plan to do:
- Invite academic surgeons to give delegates the opportunity to learn from experts about research and their careers
- Continue to organise hands-on workshops for delegates and expand the range of upper limb workshops
- Bridge students with trainees and consultants through dedicated networking opportunities
- Provide value-for-money tickets through sponsorship outreach to increase accessibility
Thank you for taking the time to read my manifesto! I would really appreciate your vote :)
