Hello, I’m Harish – a second-year medical student running for academic officer!

I would love the ability to create academic-based events within the realm of ENT. This would entail potential workshop sessions delivered by professionals, similar to what is in place in other societies. I will proactively, either face-to-face or online, meet with ENT professionals to advertise the opportunity to deliver speeches to the student body, whilst building up longstanding rapport between them and the society.. I aim to collaborate with related surgical societies to create a wide range of academic events - potentially with other London societies as well. I would love the opportunity to work with the wider committee to make all of this happen, taking on advice where necessary.

With the aim of hopefully helping to organise an ENT-related conference, I will work dilligently.

I've had the opportunity to develop these skills through many roles. Working as a Welcome Ambassador for Imperial, I was on hand to answer queries, directing students to relevant staff, and as a team, facilitated the moving in of hundreds of freshers!

At a paediatric ENT conference, I was selected to help deliver the conference on the day - recording inventory and making notes on keynote speakers, promoted future conferences, assisting a wide range of delegates. I loved the experience, being able to learn from doctors about the greatness of ENT as well as obtain the skills required to carry out a role such as this one.
