Katia Bubenok-Honchar

Hi everyone! I’m Katia, a first-year student, and I’m running to be your Treasurer.

My goal in this role is pretty simple: help the society run efficiently, bring in more funding, and make sure we can organise more events and opportunities that everyone can enjoy.

If elected, I would work closely with the department and the Union to explore ways of securing additional funding and introducing new events. I would also collaborate with the sponsorship team to bring in further support, and coordinate with the events and careers teams to ensure our budget is used as effectively as possible. Ultimately, I want to make sure the society’s resources are managed well so we can create the most value and opportunities for our members.

Additionally, I would explore partnerships with educational organisations to provide our course with free or discounted access to useful resources and platforms (think Trackr, Financial Edge, and other career tools) that can support their professional development.

I’d say my main strengths are that I’m organised, reliable, and I take feedback seriously. I want to make sure the society reflects what members actually want, and that our funds are allocated in a way that supports that.
