Going straight into what I'll do if I get elected:

Expand events to exciting huge non-academic socials (e.g., Christmas dinner, boat parties, pub crawls) and collaborations with other societies (maybe even some inter-uni stuff!)
Establish alumni connections with both our lovely Year 3 cohort and Business School
Create and EFDS website to advertise events
Haggle with union to heavily subsidize events
EFDS merch, anyone?
Improve EFDS Common Room by finally having stirrers and more suitable desks for work
Create a comprehensive internship + graduate role guide for finance, quant, economic policy, data science/SWE, and more for each year group
Hopefully expand exclusive internship opportunties and sponsors for finance like we had with Cornerstone Research
Open opportunities for research with professors and researchers within Business School
Live updates and agenda sharing especially for academic information communication, so you can see live progress 24/7
Put EFDS Society foremost on my priorities

For those of you that don't know me, hi! I'm Siheon, a first-year EFDS student and thank you for reading my manifesto! I tried my best to make it skimmable 😅

I love the energy and community of this course, and I want to build upon the foundations of the past two cohorts to make next year even better for you. If you know me (or have seen me in Y1 GC), you’ll know I care about wellbeing and academics for everyone. I love meeting new people, and I’d really appreciate the chance to do that as your EFDS Chair.
