Hi everyone, I am Dallon Chon, and I am running for Sponsorship Officer for ICSM Oncology Society.
Good events need good ideas, but they also need funding 💡💷. I am running because I want to help the society secure stronger sponsorship so we can deliver more ambitious conferences, better student experiences, and wider opportunities without placing unnecessary cost pressure on attendees.
If elected, my approach will be simple: professional outreach, clear value for sponsors, and consistent follow through.
That means building a structured sponsorship pipeline rather than sending last minute emails 📩. I want to create a more organised system for identifying relevant partners, reaching out early, and communicating clearly what Oncology Society offers, whether that is student engagement, conference visibility, or meaningful association with oncology education and outreach 🎗️.
I also want to work closely with the conference and academic teams so sponsorship supports the whole society, not just one event. Strong sponsorship can help improve event quality, support resources, and make opportunities more accessible to students 🤝.
I have experience working across student committees and academic representative roles, which has taught me how to communicate professionally, coordinate with teams, and deliver reliably. I understand that sponsorship is not just about asking for money. It is about building trust, presenting value, and representing the society well.
If elected, I will be proactive, organised, and persistent, and I will work to bring in sponsorship that helps Oncology Society grow 📈.
