Hi guys! I am Sreeja Sarkar, a first-year biochemist proud to be running for Magazine Production Lead of the Bioscience Review. As a writer myself, I am passionate about helping the Bioscience Review achieve its true potential to share scientific knowledge with and for our community!
I plan to build on the current guidelines and Excel tracking systems by ensuring they are accessible to all members and regularly updated for clear communication. As Magazine Production Lead, I will guarantee a smooth transition from drafting article ideas, to editing for valuable feedback, and finalising the layout of the product by coordinating with writers, editors and designers. If elected, I will work with the members one-on-one and help writers overcome any challenges like writer's block to refine their work, and hold collaborative peer-editing sessions to ensure each and every article is shaped to be the very best version. I will not only follow up on the progress of articles, but I also will establish and implement specific deadlines for the timely issue of articles by working alongside contributors and keeping submissions flexible to accommodate different schedules.
As a major contributor and member of my school science magazine, I have experience in writing, editing and organising scientific articles for a large-scale online magazine. I have also strengthened my academic writing skills in multiple essay competitions since middle school.
I hope to improve and promote the Bioscience Review as a collaborative academic community with your help, so vote for me as Magazine Production Lead!
