Anya Chaudhary
Bioscience Review: Chair
Hi everyone! I'm Anya, a second-year Bioengineering student, and I'm running to be Chair of the Imperial Bioscience Review. Having been a member of IBR since first-year, I've been inspired and motivated by the writing and scientific wonder that gets encouraged within the society. I'd like to become chair so that I can carry the spirit and impact of this society forward, bringing to other students and writers the same wonder that I've gained from the society so far.
Why I'm a good fit for the role:
- I've been on the IBR subcommittee as an editor for the past year, which means I'm familiar with the procedures for writing and editing articles for the review
- I've worked extensively with scientific writing and editing, having published a paper and being a Science writer for the Felix newspaper
- I'm highly dedicated to furthering the scope of the Bioscience Review and recruiting more membership and funding for the society to run as widely and efficiently as ever
If elected, I would:
- Conduct workshops on scientific writing for new and experienced writers
- Aim for and encourage submissions for consistent weekly publishing during term time, hopefully publishing an issue every term
- Organize events for exposure to careers in scientific writing, research, and academia
- Organize social events for members to connect with each other
I hope to make the most of this role, and I'm counting on your vote to continue making the Imperial Bioscience Review bigger and better than ever!
