Dhurkka Kumanan

Hi! I’m Dhurkka Kumanan, a 2nd year Medical student running for Respiratory Secretary.

I would really love to take on this role to support Respiratory Society. Having served as Secretary for a cultural society at Imperial, I have built a clear understanding of this role and its demands. I have also developed the skillset required to perform well and efficiently in this role. I have also supported the running of a conference through subcommittees, helping me to understand the logistics of running these large-scale events.

If elected as Secretary, I will make sure to:

• Optimise internal communication in the society to ensure all relevant members are kept aware of current events and updates
• Keep meetings and communication organised through clear agendas and meeting notes to streamline event organisation and coordinate the relevant committee members
• Keep society operation smooth by understanding how to communicate with Union, build risk assessments and cover the admin for the society.

Overall, I am really committed to contributing towards Respiratory Society this year - I’d really appreciate your support and hope to be part of the Respiratory committee this year!
