Hi everyone! I’m Akarat (Bright), and I’m running to be your Engineers Without Borders Society Treasurer.

As Treasurer, I’ll keep our finances organised: setting a clear yearly budget from the start, tracking spending and putting simple limits in place so we don’t overspend on one event. I’ll also make finance updates easy to understand, so the committee can make decisions with the full picture.

Just as importantly, I’ll work closely with the Events officer from the earliest planning stage to shape events that are exciting and financially sustainable, including designing events that can be supported by external partners. For example, organisations like the Grantham Institute can fund specific events, and I’ll help the committee plan events in a way that makes them eligible for that kind of support.
