Nadine Yip
Hi everyone, I’m Nadine, a first‑year Materials student. VCPE Society has been one of the most eye‑opening parts of my year, especially coming from a non‑finance background. The lectures and networking sessions have helped me understand more how investors think, how companies are valued, and what makes a strong investment case. They’ve sparked my interest in private markets within the finance industry.
I want to give that same support to students who are curious about venture capital and private equity. Attending events has also given me a clear sense of how the society operates, from budgeting to logistics, and with my previous experience managing finances and organising events, I believe I’m a strong fit for Treasurer.
As Treasurer, I want to make our initiatives more accessible and better funded so we can continue running high‑quality workshops, networking sessions, and skill‑building events that help students break into the industry. I also want to introduce a simple but effective feedback system where members can suggest or vote for the types of events they want to see. This will help us plan the budget earlier and make sure our spending reflects what students actually value.
Responsible budgeting and transparent spending is my way to help VCPE Soc grow: Every Pound with Purpose.
