I’m running for Events Officer because I’m genuinely interested in gastroenterology and hepatology and would love to help grow the society and its events. It’s a specialty I’m seriously considering for my iBSc next year, so I’d be really excited to get more involved and help create opportunities for others who are interested too.
I recently completed an audit on laparoscopic cholecystectomy at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where I worked with large datasets and as part of a clinical team. That experience strengthened my interest in the specialty and helped me develop organisation, teamwork, and time management skills.
I’m also currently the Publicity Manager for Imperial College Symphony Orchestra, which has given me committee experience and leadership skills. I’ve been involved in organising and promoting concerts, working closely with others, and making sure events are well run and well attended. It’s taught me how important communication and collaboration are behind the scenes.
If elected, I’d aim to increase the number and variety of events we run, collaborate more with other societies, and make sure our events are engaging, well organised, and properly promoted. I’m a fast learner, proactive, and keen to take on responsibility. I’d really value the opportunity to help grow the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Society and make its events even better.
