Hello! I'm Eliza, a 1st Year Chem Eng Undergrad!
Entrepreneurship gifts incredible agency to directly contribute to the leading issues in the world and it's for this reason I am passionate about climate entrepreneurship for the individual impacts we can make towards our climate goals. It's why I'm excited to run for CEC co-chair this year.
I believe I have the management, organisation and communication skills to fulfill the advertised role as a co-chair, being the first point of contact for the society and overseeing the PA program amongst other responsibilities.
However, I believe there is more to this role than what's on paper. I believe a co-chair should lead, inspire and drive the vision for the CEC.
The community of people who are passionate about climate entrepreneurship and careers in sustainability, is vibrant, however, I feel a little fragmented in that there is little interaction between us. Moreover, I feel we lack visibility as a society in the context of the whole Imperial environment and beyond. My vision for the CEC is to connect talent within the community beyond just the PA program, drive engagement with the wider community and build an image and brand for the CEC. To me, this looks like more events of all kinds, inter-society collaboration and a stronger media push. We are a club unique to Imperial amongst other London universities, we have so much more potential.
I hope you trust me to lead the committee and deliver on this ambition for our community.
