I started dancing because of Funkology, so I’ve only been dancing for about 4 months in my life. Despite that, I’ve already participated in my first battle. I’m one of the most beginner dancers but I’m already well connected to the whacking community in London, which is full of battlers for not just whacking but also other dance styles, so I know what battles not just look but also feel like. Freestyling comes easier to me than choreography, which I know is not the case for some people, so I want to help create space for people to explore freestyle without worrying about judgement. I think there’s freedom in doing rounds and dancing to music as you feel like to have fun and trusting the drills you’ve done.
