Hi everyone! I’m Lavanya a fourth year medic currently intercalating in global health and I would love to be your next UAEM Chapter lead!

Global health is a key area of medicine but it’s role is currently underappreciated – together we can make Students for Global Health a strong society improving awareness of global health challenges!

I’m well-equipped to be your next UAEM Chapter Lead as I am an experienced member of GP Soc committee with 2 years of experience. I’ve been on committee for Students for Global Health and subcommittee for Teddy Bear Hospital. I’ve also been UAEM’s innovation lead this year.

Next year I’ll continue the amazing work we’ve been able to do this year along with:

• 🕵️‍♀️ UAEM Insight day – Inviting guest speakers working on improving access to medicines to provide their insights and practical ways in which students can contribute!
• 🧩 UAEM Hackathon – Specific hackathon getting students to think of creative ways to reduce drug prices
• 🔗 National & international coordination - Improving UAEM collaboration with the national and international team

I’m a highly dedicated individual and work well in teams and with others. I am really looking forward to being your next UAEM Chapter Lead and would really appreciate your vote!
