About Me
Hello everyone! I’m Emil, currently a third-year and 25/26 committee member of the Computational Biology Society, and I’m excited to run for Chair.
Over the past year, I’ve contributed to running workshops, supporting outreach initiatives, and organising our annual hackathon, including this year’s joint collaboration with AI Society.
Through this experience, I’ve developed a clear understanding of how the society operates, what works well, and where we can grow.
Vision for the Society
1. Expand Collaboration
Computational biology is inherently interdisciplinary. I want to expand structured collaborations with AI, Data Science, Bioengineering, Biology, and entrepreneurship-focused societies.
This includes:
-
Joint hackathons and coding challenges
-
Cross-disciplinary technical workshops
-
Co-hosted speaker and industry events
2. Strengthen Industry Links
I aim to leverage our existing industry connections and build new ones to deliver technical workshops, career-focused panels, and networking events.
These partnerships will increase opportunities for members and elevate our society’s profile across campus.
