Emma Parkinson
Hi everyone! I’m Emma, a Biochemistry student and founder of a healthtech startup, and I’m running for Biochem Society Sponsorship Manager because I think we can bring in sponsors that are both relevant for our careers and make our events more fun.
Of course, I’d focus on building relationships with pharma and biotech companies like Roche, Novartis, AstraZeneca and GSK, since many biochem students are interested in those industries. These could support career panels, networking events, and insight sessions.
But I’d also love to bring in startup founders and early-stage biotech companies. Being involved in the biotech startup ecosystem myself, I already have connections and would love to host more interactive events like founder chats or discussions around topics like biotech innovation or women’s health. We could also partner with other societies (for example femtech or entrepreneurship groups) to run joint events.
My goal is to bring in sponsors that reflect the many paths biochem students take — pharma, research, startups, and beyond.
