Friends of Médecins Sans Frontières: Innovation Coordinator

Hello everyone! I'm Ronak, and this year I'm running to serve as your Innovation Co-ordinator.

MSF staff around the world serve in some of the most difficult environments, adding resourcefulness and grit to everything they do. I'd like to appreciate them in some small way by bringing that energy home to our society. With disease recurrence and vaccination programs being defunded, and things as tense as they are in conflicts around the world, not least the atrocities we've witnessed in Palestine, Sudan, and the DRC, I feel very strongly about how we need to show up for those who need it most.

With this in mind, I have the following goals this year:

  • Strengthening existing relationships and building new ones with other societies, including Remote Medicine, Art Club, Acute Care and Prehospital Emergency Medicine
  • Using these relationships to innovate and deliver fun and engaging workshops, both to maximise our visibility and also consequently the amounts we can fundraise for donations
  • Drawing on previous experience I've had with teaching and mentoring, as a Wellbeing Representative and Art Club committee member (and dealing with annoying Union bureaucracy), to help the Committee with the smooth delivery of events and logistics

If I were your Innovation Coordinator, I'd prioritise inclusion and engagement above all. I'd like to make our events low-pressure environments where people can come to relax, feel good and give back to an important cause.

I hope I can count on your support!
