Tanvi Acharya
Hi, I’m Tanvi - and I’m guessing the obvious hook here has to be my upcoming HSBC spring internship.
But on a deeper note, I’d love to help connect students with the people who have already navigated the treacherous finance journey - Imperial alumni.
About me:
• I’ve had real experience interacting with alumni, having interned this autumn directly under the founder of a startup built by an Imperial alumnus - so I can genuinely say I’ve practised what I’m preaching.
• I’ve also attended more networking events than I can count (and I’d like to think I actually got something out of them).
But I also believe many of those networking events could have been far more fruitful, which brings me to why you should elect me.
What I want to do:
• Launch mentorship programs with successful alumni to gain closer, more valuable insights into careers in finance.
• Start an Access to Alumni Series - monthly informal sessions connecting students with alumni on a personal level rather than through awkward LinkedIn chats.
• Create a database of alumni open to giving career guidance and advice.
• Organise workshops led by employers and alumni so students gain real insight into what firms actually look for.
• Ultimately capitalise on the advantage of being at "the Second Best University in the World(QS Rankings)" by making our alumni network as accessible and impactful as possible.
If this sounds like something that could take your finance career to the next level - I’d really appreciate your vote.
