Hi everyone, I’m Vincent, a second-year Maths student, and I’m running to be your next Vice President for Global Markets.

Global Markets is a broad category, encompassing Sales & Trading, Structuring, Research, Hedge Funds and Asset Management. There’s a lot to learn and it can sometimes be difficult to understand how all these roles differ.

That’s why as your VP, I will deliver the following initiatives:

1) Targeted Student Panels:

I will introduce a series of targeted panels with industry professionals or students who have completed internships in specific divisions. These will be honest conversations about daily work, responsibilities, and skillsets required in addition to application advice, to help members decide where their interests lie.

2) Mentorship Program:

I also want to introduce a mentorship program to connect older students with internship experience to those keen to get advice. Informal guidance can be incredibly valuable and is something I have personally found very useful, helping me secure 2 spring week offers this year.

3) Market Matters Programme:

I will maintain this high-quality monthly series ensuring that there is a balanced mix of presentations. I aim to keep these sessions interactive and engaging to make sure they are genuinely useful for interviews.

Having developed strong outreach skills through leadership roles within MathSoc over the last year, I am confident in coordinating guest speakers and organising events that are practically useful for all members.
