Anshu Nautiyal
Hi everyone — I’m Anshu, a second-year Computing student, and I’m running for Postgraduate & Alumni Liaison.
Imperial Computing has one of the strongest networks in the world. Our alumni are building frontier AI labs, founding startups, leading research groups, running quant desks, and shaping global technology companies. But too often, those connections remain distant or informal. I want to help turn that network into something every student in the department can access.
My principal aim is to create structured, useful connections between students, postgraduates, and alumni.
First, I would work to organise a more structured alumni talk series focused on the major career pathways from Imperial Computing. Rather than occasional one-off talks, the aim would be to develop clearer tracks across areas such as enterprise tech, startups, AI & research, quant finance, and academic CS research. These sessions could focus on the practical realities of those paths — what students should consider doing during their degree, which skills and courses matter most, and how alumni navigated their early careers after Imperial. Crucially, I would aim to highlight how Imperial careers evolve over five to ten years, rather than focusing only on immediate graduate outcomes.
Second, I would like to explore building a mentoring-style connection between undergraduates and postgraduate students. This could allow later-stage undergrads to gain advice from Master's and PhD students who recently navigated similar decisions — whether that’s internships, research opportunities, PhD applications, or industry roles.
If that’s something you want to see, I’d appreciate your support.
