Medical Education: Early Years Coordinator

Hi everyone! I’m Sumant, a 2^nd year medical student, and I’m running to be your Early Years Coordinator for MedEd.

We all know how stressful exams can be, whether it’s navigating the ocean of BRS lectures, or surviving the trials and tribulations of PoM. If there’s anything that got me through 1^st year (and helped me achieve 1^st overall in my cohort😊), it was the fantastic work of the MedEd team and their amazing resources!

Having run tutorials for MedEd myself, as well as working as a private tutor, I’ve experienced how deeply rewarding it is to guide other students and help them build confidence. With the knowledge I have of 1^st and 2^nd year content, I strongly believe that I will be able to support students to not only pass but excel in their exams, and in doing so give back to the very community that helped me succeed.

As your Early Years Coordinator, I will:

Organise more concise lectures that cut through the waffle and cover the high-yield concepts for PoM and BRS
Expand on the question bank to provide lots of useful practice for exams, including more SAQs and full mocks
Introduce more CPA practice sessions to help students practise key clinical skills
