Hanka Mehager

Hiya, I'm Hanka! I was this year's Athletics Captain who was told that I was "too shy to ever post on instagram", so to spite my enemies, I did exactly that.

You might follow me on my account @futureastronautfiles. This account has a variety of content, but not many people know I originally started it to get more women into running. Before starting the academic year, I posted a couple of videos that got over 20k views, and we actually had a handful of people come up to us saying that came because of the videos!

I think that social media is a good way to raise awareness of what the club is like. I remember before starting my first year I was terrified of joining the society, and so I immediately stalked the @icrunning instagram. I couldn't find much - I think that's a shame!

My goals as a media officer would be to:

- Make feel-good, silly content to have some familiar faces around when new people join

- Keep people posted on our weekly events

- Try to gain sponsorships from smaller brands!
