Lavanya Murki

Hi everyone! I’m Lavanya a fourth year medic currently intercalating in global health and I would love to be your next education officer!

Global health is a key area of medicine but it’s role is currently underappreciated – together we can make Students for Global Health a strong society improving awareness of global health challenges!

I’m well-equipped to be your next education officer as I am an experienced member of GP Soc committee with 2 years of experience. I’ve been on committee for Students for Global Health and subcommittee for Teddy Bear Hospital.

Next year I’ll continue the amazing work we’ve been able to do this year along with:

• BSc tutorials – As a current global health student I know exactly what students would need next year
• Journal club – Inviting authors of the journal articles to debate their work (an in-person letter to the editor!)
• Global Health insight day – Inviting guest speakers working in a range of fields from volunteering in other countries to advocates on public health boards

I’m a highly dedicated individual and work well in teams and with others. I am really looking forward to being your next education officer and would really appreciate your vote!
