Design Engineering: Brand Manager

I get the question “what actually is Design Engineering?” surprisingly often, and the truth is, people still don’t really get it. We build things, code things, design things, prototype things, and approach problems differently than most engineering courses, but from the outside that isn’t always clear.

That’s exactly why the role of Brand Manager matters. It’s about making sure the way Design Engineering presents itself actually reflects what we do and how creative this course really is.

And let’s not lie and say what people think doesn’t matter, it does to most of us. The perception of a course we spend hours working on, building projects for, and pushing ourselves in absolutely matters. I’m here to help people understand the brilliance, creativity, and future of Design Engineering. Because I’ve been in that position myself, feeling frustrated when people don’t really understand what this degree is or what we actually do.

I think I’d be good at this because I genuinely care about how things are presented, alongside what they actually are, whether that’s projects, events, or the identity of the course itself. DesEng produces incredible work, but too often it disappears after deadlines or stays within small circles. I want to help showcase that work better and build a clearer, stronger identity for the community.
