Tanisha Sharma

Hi, my name is Tanisha! I am currently on the Surgical Society subcommittee and have had the responsibility in aiding with the delivery of a variety of Surgsoc events. I endeavour to take on the webmaster role, where I will facilitate the smooth operation of the SurgSoc website and ensure that that the society has strong online visbility.

Previous experience:

- I have previously taken on the role of Digital Head for a Medsoc society, where I was responsible for creating an engaging website that would attract aspiring medics to attend speaker events and learn more about what this career entails.

- I took on the role of posting content about new medical innovations to widen the students' knowledge.

Strong Surgsoc society involvement:

- I was responsible for recruiting speakers for the SurgSoc Inaugural Battle of the Specialties panel talk, where I invited Dr Farid Froghi (a HPB surgeon) to the event to explain his experiences.

- I was assigned the role of group leader during the International Trauma Conference, where I assisted with the delivery of workshops.

- I assisted with the organisation of the mock CPA, in which I was responsible for setting up the stations and ensuring that the logistics of the exam ran smoothly.

Aspirations:

- I hope to increase the visibility of Surgsoc events so that sixth form and medical students alike are aware of event opportunities.

- I hope to maintain an engaging online presence and ensure that the technical side of the society is well supported.
