Salina Bartley
Hi everyone! I’m running to be your next Surgical Society Webmaster.
As Webmaster, my aim is to create a professional, accessible and engaging digital platform, whether you’re just curious about surgery or actively building your portfolio.
I’ve previously taken part in a hackathon where my team and I developed an app to track medical supply stocks as they were shipped globally. That experience gave me valuable insight into how to design digital platforms that are intuitive, practical and genuinely useful. I’ve also worked on publicity for several societies, including Paediatrics, Islamic Society, and the Obs & Gynae Conference, which was especially successful. So I understand how to present events clearly and professionally to maximise engagement.
My key priority will be to create (or revive) a dedicated SurgSoc website that includes:
- A centralised events calendar
- Clear contact information
- Easy access to slides, recordings and revision resources
- Information about opportunities, conferences and portfolio building
- A showcase of past events and society achievements
Most importantly, I’m really keen to hear your ideas about what YOU would want from the website. If elected, I’d make sure it reflects the needs of our members.
I’d absolutely love the opportunity to be your Webmaster for Surgical Society next year. Thank you for your support!
