Swim and Waterpolo: BUSL Swimming Captain

Hello, for those of you who don't know me, I'm Joseph, a first year whose highlight this year has been representing Imperial through the swimming team. As someone who is driven by competition, I have loved having the opportunity to compete head to head against our local rivals in tense, high-pressure but ultimately incredibly enjoyable competitions.

Therefore, I would love to take on a more hands-on role in this side of the club next year, helping to maintain and build on this competitive and fun environment. To me, being BUSL Captain would be about helping to create a squad that is prepared and organised, ultimately giving us the confidence to crush our competition, as a team.

Most importantly, I would bring energy to this role (especially for the late night journeys to Royal Holloway). On top of this, I fully understand the importance of commitment, as well as clear and early communication around competitions, so that all the swimmers know what is expected of them, and that everyone feels ready to perform. I also want to ensure that newer members feel included and supported in competitive settings, so that representing Imperial is something everyone feels proud and excited to do, just like it was for me.

I will commit fully to the responsibilities of this role, ensuring I lead by example alongside the rest of the committee, fostering a team culture where we are competitive, united and proud to represent Imperial.

Thank you for your consideration.
