Hamid Raja

Hi guys

My name is Hamid Raja, I'm a 2nd year medic and I'm running to be one of the PlayTeam Chairs this year. I had the lovely opportunity to work as one of the Playteam leaders this year. Being almost pressured into applying for Playteam, I could not possibly believe at the time how enjoyable, rewarding and potentially career-motivating of an experience it would be. Playteam has been the driving force in me deciding to go toward Paediatrics and I want to make sure I can share and replicate that experience for new volunteers. It truly is extraordinarily satisfying, talking to the children and making their very difficult experiences in the hospital just that slightly bit less challenging. Being Playteam leader also gave me a glimpse me some of the administrative roles involved in Playteam and I believe that I would be suitable to step up and tackle the role of Playteam Chair. I spoke to one of the Playteam Chairs this year about applying for the role and whilst she said it is one of the most challenging and time consuming jobs on committee, I believe I have the work ethic and motivation particularly for something like this which I am extremely passionate about (my tutor says my eyes light up when I talk about it...). Anyways...thank you guys if you made it this far through the waffle and I'd really appreciate for you to vote for me as the next Playteam chair!!
