Lena Hamza

Hi everyone! I’m Lena and I would really love to be Academic Officer for Paediatric society. Paeds is an incredibly special field; I have really developed an interest in this specialty after having been to Paeds events this year, like the Milestones Matter conference, and being a part of the team that organised ‘Meet the Paediatricians.’ Being on subcommittee for this event showed my ability to be proactive and work well alongside others. It was a very rewarding experience so I would love to continue with my journey in Paeds.

I did some research and decided I would be well-suited to the role of academic officer. I’ve really enjoyed being a tutor this year; teaching is a rewarding process so I would love to be an organiser of some academic conferences, perhaps in collaboration with other societies at Imperial. Having been on committee for SIMA (Student Iraqi Medical Association) as charity officer, an inter-university medical society, I have developed the organisational skills necessary to take on this role. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere of Paeds having been to a few events this year and so I would love to be a part of this society. Thanks for reading and please vote for me!
