Osazuware Eribo
Hi everyone! My name is Osa and I’m running to be Paediatrics Conference Chair.
As Conference Chair, I want to deliver a conference that is well-organised and genuinely valuable for students and at every stage of medical school.
Through my role as Vice President of Imperial College Gospel Choir, I gained experience leading a committee and helping organise large-scale events, including our annual Christmas showcase. This involved coordinating a team, planning logistics, and working towards a clear vision to deliver successful events to an excellent standard. In this role, I developed skills in supporting committee members, identifying people’s strengths, and ensuring strong communication and cohesiveness within a team - skills I would bring to running the Paediatrics Conference subcommittee effectively.
I have also previously served as Publicity Officer, where I gained experience promoting events and ensuring strong engagement across students and social media.
Having attended this year’s conference, I would aim to make it more accessible to students across all years, with sessions introducing paediatrics and the training pathway for earlier-year students, alongside guidance for older years and clinical students on portfolio building, research opportunities, and the breadth of paediatric subspecialties.
Overall, I would aim to deliver a conference that is inspiring, informative and engaging to any medical student interested in paediatrics.
