DoCSoc: Marketing & Publicity Officer

Between the never-ending coursework and lecture content, I have enjoyed the breather that DoCSOC events provide. As Marketing and Publicity Officer, I seek to eagerly advertise the range of opportunities that DoCSOC has on offer through vibrant and eye-catching content.

My three main objectives are:

1. Boost engagement through our socials

From posting content on LinkedIn and Instagram, I understand what attracts a crowd. I plan to use these content creation skills to ensure that all the latest academic, sponsor and social events are posted on our social pages and spark conversations both on and offline.

2. New year; new merch

One of the things I want to work on as MPO is introducing new merch for our DoCSOC members to collect. Inspired by stickers I had designed for my Further Maths class based on an inside joke, I believe having a memorable quote/meme collection from nominations submitted by DoCSOC members connects them to the merch and helps DoCSOC engage with the banter side of Gen Z.

3. ICHack Marketing

I loved the design from this year’s ICHack, which sets the bar even higher for next year! One idea I propose is to design ICHack branding around the monopoly game which I think captures that chaotic and slightly competitive side of computing students 😉
