Angie Qiao
Hi everyone! We’re Jasmine and Angie, and we’re running to be your next iPRAS Co-Presidents :))
iPRAS already runs fantastic conferences, and we want to build on this by strengthening the foundations of the society and nurturing students’ interests in plastics across all years at ICSM.
Our main goal is to create a structured learning pathway, with a clearer progression from early exposure to application preparation. This includes creating more opportunities for members to develop practical skills and explore the specialty in a supportive environment.
Some of the initiatives we would like to introduce include:
- Introductory suturing sessions for early-year students to encourage early exposure to plastics.
- Portfolio and interview guidance sessions for students considering surgical training.
- Career insight and mentorship opportunities, connecting members with FY doctors, CSTs, and plastics trainees.
- Support for research, audit, and theatre exposure, helping students find opportunities to build their experience.
Alongside this, we want to ensure sustainable growth for the society. By managing a strong and supportive committee, and by streamlining event organisation using our experience with intra- and inter-society operations, we hope to make it easier for iPRAS to run consistent, high-quality events year after year.
Thank you for taking the time to read our manifesto - we’d be incredibly grateful for your support, and we hope to earn your vote!
