I didn't think I'd ever pick up a lacrosse stick, until a close friend of mine suggested I play. Having joined lacrosse at Imperial, it is now one of my greatest regrets that I didn't pick up the sport at a much younger age.
Two terms in, it is safe to say lacrosse plays a substantial role in my university life. Since the first taster session, I've only wanted one thing and that was to get better at the sport, in a hope to catch up to the level of the team and play a meaningful part within the team. I have done so by attending every single men's training session, men's and mixed matches all year and I don't intend on stopping. I’ve also joined the Camden Capybaras club to further develop my game.
While I may not have much experience with lacrosse, I believe I have the passion to make up for it. My time so far at Imperial and Camden lacrosse has taught me a lot about the game, and I've picked up some training drills and plays at Camden, which I hope to use as captain.
One of my main weaknesses in my opinion is my fitness, as a middie my cardio is lacking and I think many people are in the same boat. As captain something I hope to introduce is fitness sessions to work on speed, agility and endurance.
I cannot wait to serve my beloved club.
