Electrical Engineering: SparkEE Ladies President

Hi, i'm Noya, I’m a first-year EEE student running to be the next President of Women in EE.

During sixth form, I attended an all-boys school. As one of few women in a male-dominated environment, I often felt underrepresented and uncertain about pursuing engineering. That experience shaped me. It strengthened my resilience; motivated me to chase my goals; and more importantly, it showed me how vital supportive communities like WiEE truly are.

If elected, I will focus on three key pillars: empowerment, outreach and camaraderie.

I want WiEE to be a space that is not only professionally enriching but genuinely enjoyable. Alongside hackathons and networking events, I plan to introduce more initiatives such as industry-led design sprints, collaborative coding challenges with alumni mentors, and an annual “Women Innovate” project showcase. Community-building socials are just as important: bowling trips; arts and crafts evenings, and movie nights are just a few of the many events I am excited to organise.

Beyond Imperial, I aim to expand outreach to secondary schools, inspiring girls who may not yet see engineering as “for them" due to restrictive gender stereotypes and empowering them fulfil their role in shaping the future of technology. Through workshops, Q&A panels, and mentorship, we can inspire the next generation of female engineers.

Having been a key part of my sixth form’s Charities Committee, I offer event-planning experience, strong leadership, effective teamwork skills, and a collaborative mindset. Most importantly, I bring passion.

Together, we will make WiEE empowering, ambitious, and impactful.
