Hi! I’m Anya Gupta, a first-year Biomedical Engineering student running for Events Manager for Women in Business.

As a STEM student interested in business, I know how overwhelming it can be to navigate different industries and career paths. WIB events are a great way to explore opportunities, meet inspiring professionals, and connect with other students who share similar ambitions. I’d love to help organise events that make these opportunities more accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for everyone.

My plans as Events Manager:

Explore More – organising panels and talks across industries such as healthcare consulting, biotech startups, finance, and entrepreneurship, helping members discover paths they may not have considered before.

Connect More – collaborating with other STEM and business societies to host joint events, bringing in a wider range of networks, and opportunities.

Achieve More – hosting practical workshops on networking, case-solving, and navigating internships or spring week applications to help members build skills.

Alongside professional events, I also want to introduce more relaxed community socials like potlucks, movie nights, coffee catch-ups, and picnic socials. These informal events create space for members from different years to meet, share experiences, and build genuine connections.

Why me?

I’m outgoing and enjoy bringing people together. I’m also organised and good at planning and executing ideas while keeping deadlines in mind. I’d love to use these skills to create events that are valuable and memorable for the WIB community.
