Cheng Xin Cheong

Hi everyone! I’m Cheng Xin, a second-year Chemistry student, and I’m excited to run for Events Manager of Women in Business.

WIB has played an important role in helping me explore different career paths and gain clarity in my own journey. I would love to give back by creating the same impactful opportunities for others.

As Events Manager, I will focus on three key areas:

1. Expanding Industry Exposure
I aim to diversify panels and workshops across Finance, Consulting, Tech, Energy and Life Sciences, introducing members to a wider range of career paths. I will collaborate with other societies and sponsors to host exclusive events that provide valuable networking opportunities, unique industry insights and potentially fast-track interview opportunities.

2. Increasing Practical Skill-Building
I want to organise targeted events that guide members through competitive applications step by step. From CV and interview workshops to technical sessions such as case studies, financial modelling and online assessments, my goal is to ensure members feel fully prepared and confident.

3. More Social Events
I hope to organise relaxed socials such as café catch-ups, alumni dinners, jewellery-making sessions and matcha workshops to strengthen our supportive community and create meaningful connections.

Why me?
Having gone through multiple competitive applications myself, I understand what events are truly valuable. I am highly organised and proactive, and I will use my connections to secure more exclusive, career-focused events for our members. Most importantly, I am passionate about empowering women to navigate business careers with confidence.
