Hello, I’m Bethany —

As AMSAs academic officer, I will:

• Ensure the smooth delivery of centralised union mock exams through early coordination with the union and other societies; recruit a strong subcommittee at the start of the academic year for all events to guarantee sufficient volunteers and promote committee applications among them.

• Continue and expand our MMI mock day to promote AMSA to future medics and increase revenue.

• Centralise tutoring groups for CPA, OSCEs and more to provide consistent, accessible academic support.

• Deliver a regular teaching series led by senior students based on demand communicated by younger students.

• Develop a structured mentorship scheme connecting students across year groups integrating this into AMSA families.

• Introduce incentives and recognition for volunteers and mentors such as priority for social/academic events and support feedback and evidence of teaching for portfolios.

• Work with our president to expand the alumni network and provide more in-person lectures, career series and workshops.

As current secretary of AMSA, I’ve worked closely on the organisation of our academic events and would like to continue and develop our academic support for all our members. Thank you!
