Cardiovascular: Head of Research and Education

Hi everyone! My name is Riya and I’m a second year medical student running for head of research and education.

I would aim to make our cardio society more interactive and a hub for accessible and reliable learning and research opportunities that supports students at every stage.

Organising and delivering teaching is something I’m really passionate about and I have especially developed these skills as phase 1a BRS crash course lead in MedEd.

I would look forward to implementing more education opportunities through:

Introducing structured, curriculum aligned tutorials for early years that break down core concepts
Starting dedicated cardiovascular OSCE and CPA workshops
Monthly journal club focusing on landmark trials and how to critically appraise evidence.

On the research front, I would primarily focus on connecting students to research supervisors through more networking opportunities and guidance from experienced members to hopefully allow more students to get involved in meaningful and fascinating projects.
