Cardiovascular: Head of Research and Education

Dear Cardiovascular Society members, medical school can make research feel intimidating and cardiology research seem out of reach. This is why I am running for Head of Research and Education to introduce new opportunities for our motivated members while supporting strong exam performance year round. I have 3 clear aims:

Making research realistic

• Work closely with faculty to open up some supervised projects for our members!!
• Support students with practical guidance on audits, abstracts, and publications through seminars with Cardiologists

Raising the standard of teaching

• Deliver in-person cardiovascular teaching seminars for the first time for each phase 1a-1c
• Keep sessions relevant and convenient to attend for all years

Clearer career insight

• Organise open conversations with cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons through relaxed seminars
Create meaningful networking opportunities with cardiothoracic surgeons and cardiologists so students can ask real questions online and in person

Our research and education should offer more support to ensure students interested in the Cardiovascular feild have opportunities to build up their portolfio.

If you want an organised, proactive, and serious about creating tangible opportunities Head of Research for 2026/27 I would value your vote. Thank you!
