Data Science: Head of Marketing and Outreach

I want to expand the reach of Data Science Society by:

  • Making the society more accessible to new members by introducing more events and stronger marketing campaigns at the start of both terms to give freshers the chance to really be invested in the society.
  • Expand beyond tech-related fields: Data Science is everywhere, and it’s important to communicate this to Imperial students in subjects that are not traditionally associated with data science. Marketing campaigns targeted towards the wider applications of data science in niche fields through a weekly “Data Science Spotlight” series would be a great way to build a stronger member base.
  • Engaging with more industry partners, particularly smaller startups and companies looking to expand into data science. They would be more interested in actively participating in society events like specialist talks or sponsor events, and this would also give members access to more unique opportunities that they wouldn’t know of otherwise.
  • More collaborations with other tech societies by holding joint events and competitions will allow members to build data science associated skills and give other Imperial students to engage with data science and develop an interest in it.
  • Building a stronger online presence through a more frequently updated Instagram and LinkedIn page will gradually improve the reach of the society and spread greater awareness about the latest exciting events being held.

Vote for me if you want to see the Data Science Society become bigger and better!
