Gazette: Features Editor

Hi, I'm Rachel, and I'm running for Gazette Features Editor.

Last year, I wrote a Features piece (coming soon...?) and genuinely loved the process - from shaping the idea to refining the voice. It's such a special part of the Gazette, where stories, opinions, creativity and perspective all have a real opportunity to shine.

I did A Level English Literature, and I still read and write poetry on the side - I genuinly love poetry (if anyone ever wants someone to talk about it with), as well as the creative freedom that comes with longer-form writing. But more than that, I love helping other people express their ideas and find their voice.

As Features Editor, I want to:

- Encourage more students to pitch ideas - especially those who might not usually see themselves as "writers"

- Create space for diverse persectives to be showcased

- Support contributors through drafting and editing so they feel proud of their work

- Focus on creative formats - opinion pieces, reflective essays, cultural commentary

Features should reflect the personalities and experiences within our medics community, and if you want somone who cares about creativity, clarity, and giving people the platform to share their voice, I'd love your vote for Gazette Features Editor.
