Motivation

ICUMS has thoroughly eased the process of moving to London and has truly given me friends and memories I will cherish for the rest of my life. Naturally, I wish to give back by improving opportunities for students, strengthening our partnerships, and, most importantly, bringing in more funds to deliver bigger, better experiences for everyone in ICUMS.

Experience

• I spearheaded a used toy donation project in collaboration with PlayUnlimited, where we collected 250kg of toys for charity.
• Gained a work shadowing opportunity at Jimah East Power Plant by cold emailing engineers.
• I worked at a lawyer's office during school holidays, where I learned about contracts and agreements
• School Student Council member from 2021-2023

Ideas

• I plan on collecting data on the courses and career plans of our members using surveys, and using it to decide which sponsorship areas we should target and to support our pitches.
• I will introduce a sponsorship package for startups where students will be matched for internships under startups, allowing students to gain valuable startup experience.
• I plan on optimising event schedules so that we do not schedule any events during exam seasons, maximising the number of attendees per event.
• I will collaborate with the Malaysian Embassy to find out if any dignitaries visit, and invite them to give talks at Imperial, boosting our credibility to attract future sponsorships.
• Decreased participation from seniors could be solved with exclusive events with industry leaders, shadowing, and internship opportunities more focused on specific career goals.
