Hello, my name is Calvin, a first-year chemist! As a first-year myself, I understand what it’s like navigating lectures, labs, problem sheets, and trying to remember which building you’re meant to be in. I know how important it is to feel heard, supported, and included, especially in a course as intense (and rewarding) as Chemistry at Imperial.

I would be a good First Year Rep because I’m approachable, proactive, and genuinely care about our cohort’s experience. If something isn’t working, I’ll raise it. If something is working, I’ll help build on it. Whether it’s academic feedback, lab concerns, or simply making sure more of us know about opportunities and events, I’ll make sure your voice doesn’t get lost in the crowd.

Beyond academics, I want to help strengthen our year group as a community. Chemistry is so much better when you’re not doing it alone, whether that’s finding a study buddy before a test or having people to laugh with after a long lab. I’ll work closely with ChemSoc and staff to ensure first-years feel integrated, supported, and confident.
