Hi everyone, I’m Vincent, a second-year Maths student, and I’m running to be your next Treasurer.

Over the past year, as External Vice President of MathSoc, I have more than quadrupled the society’s budget, securing a record-breaking number of sponsors. This has given me experience efficiently tracking cash flows and managing sponsor relationships to form long-term partnerships in one of the largest societies on campus. As an Events Associate for the Investment Society this year, I have gained insight into how the society operates behind the scenes and how successful events are planned.

As Treasurer, I will focus on 4 main goals:

• Cheaper Events: Ensuring affordable ticket prices for every event to remove cost as a barrier for everyone
• Sponsorship Coordination: Work closely with the sponsorship team to attract more sponsors and offer more partnered events
• Efficient Reimbursements: Submit union claims promptly on behalf of the committee to streamline processes and reduce admin load
• Financial Transparency: Maintain clear, updated spreadsheets tracking all society revenue, expenditure, sponsorships and event budgets

Beyond core responsibilities, I plan to work closely with the rest of the committee to bring more targeted student and industry panels to help members decide where their interests lie.

My previous experience sets me up well for the Treasurer role, and my ambition to keep the society’s reputation as one of the top finance societies in the country guarantees that I will listen to your requests and bring many different opportunities and socials for all members to enjoy.
