MiHui Ng
Hello everyone, my name is MiHui Ng, and I’m a first-year Mechanical Engineering student. Learning is essential, but it is equally important not to forget one’s well-being and balancing a heavy academic schedule. Being an engineering student is very demanding, and my aim is to create a comfortable environment where every student is heard, supported, and valued. If elected, one of my plans is to plan simple activities during peak periods, for example, providing students with snacks during stressful periods and planning social events at convenient locations near our school. These events would enable students to take a break from studying and socialize with other students.
By talking and working with the team, I hope that I will be able to ensure that the welfare activities are relevant and assist Mechanical Engineering students. Another thing is that I hope to be able to help make welfare support more prominent because some students might be feeling overwhelmed but are not sure where to turn for support. As the Welfare Officer, I will strive to be an active contributor to the development of a positive and supportive community within the Department of Mechanical Engineering, in which students feel comfortable, supported, and connected with one another. I appreciate your time and consideration, and look forward to the opportunity to serve and enhance the welfare of Mech Soc.
